BANGLADESH AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE

A) Major Trade Partners of Bangladesh : Major trade partners of Bangladesh in terms of export and import are outlined below.

The USA, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Japan and some other EU and Non-EU countries are the major export trade partners of Bangladesh of which the USA accounts for almost one thirds of her total export during the last two decades or so (30% in 1990-91, 31% in 1995-96, 39% in 2000-01, and 28.26% in 2006-07 respectively of the total export earnings of Bangladesh)

In Asia, Japan appears to be the prime export partner of Bangladesh. If we look at the economic block-wise export trade, NAFTA appears to be the most successful trade block followed by EU and ASEAN respectively.
