The judicial courts is one of the most difficult undertaking out of all the judicial system. Even though law enforcement officers apprehend offenders, it is still up to the prosecutors to retrieve and analyze all evidence from the scene of the crime that the officers collected, so that they can compile a case against the defendant. Then there is the defense also gathering information to make a case to prove the defendant is innocent. Now if I was the boss for the day I would make some changes to help make both sides more successful.…

We have a friend (that was introduced to us by a mutual friend) who has been a big resource for us. Her son and Noah had a lot in common, including the trials and tribulations that kids like them (and their families) had to deal with. The afflictions that affected my son and hers did not have her suffer in self-pity (even though she has admitted that there are times she has felt defeated). She instead became a true champion of the cause, since she ultimately felt that what happened to her son could have been avoided. She did it all; fighting state regulations (particularly medical insurance), educating other parents with kids like hers about what she felt was the government’s role in what now affects 1 in 65 kids in the United States, to even pointing out that what we feed kids like hers affect how they…

Gerard Jones is quite a fan of The Hulk and Tarzan comic books. In his essay “Violent Media is Good for Kids” Jones argues that the violence in those and other comics teach valuable lessons that will help children understand difficult emotions. Jones states that in “try (ing) to protect our children from their own feelings and fantasies, we shelter them not against violence but against power and selfhood.” Throughout the essay Jones relies on personal anecdotes that reveal his opinions about violence in comics and other media instead of citing formal research. Jones’ personal experience is that violent media is not generally harmful, and fills an important place in childhood imagination and play.…

Software architecture design is an important aspect of our daily lives whether we know it or not. There are so many different systems that we interact with on a daily basis that we do not recognize are closely tied to software architecture decisions. These systems handle things from stoplights, electricity, televisions, communications, and many other things. Another example of a software system involved with our life is a system that powers banks and financial networks across the globe. When implementing such a system, there are several things that need to be considered. The design of any software system needs to be thought out and have certain aspects considered from the beginning. By choosing specific quality attributes to be designed into the architecture, there is a greater chance that the system will be successful. Specifically for a bank system, there will be several important attributes to focus on. First, the performance of the system needs to be high quality. Bank workers, people at ATMs, and bank administrators will all be interacting with other systems and so the new system will need to perform fast enough to allow everyone to complete the necessary tasks. Also, the reliability and security of the system are two of the most important thing to focus on. The system needs to be reliable such that it does not crash and has a very high uptime. The security is important because banks hold a large amount of private information. If this private information became available to people who should not have access, the company which made the system could face a lot of legal issues due to the breach of privacy. A bank system needs to make sure that people who are authorized to get in the system…
