Basecamp Explorer is in charge of sourcing of materials and managing the entire project. We are delighted that the good efforts by the Masai women is being recognized not only locally but also globally. Basecamp Masai Brand products are enlisted under fair trade, which ensures that the mamas receive 75% of the sales price of the product. The remaining 25% is used to cover management costs and to buy materials when necessary. The women also have an active role in the process of pricing, which takes into consideration the cultural significance of the product being sold.
