B. Reason to listen: Most of you probably have never heard of Bassnectar. He was introduced into my life in 2014 and even though his music has been in my life a short time, he has forever changed who I am. I hope that after this speech, you will learn not only of Bassnectar, but of the community he has created, and how he has helped shaped who I am as an individual.
C. Thesis statement: Bassnectar has shown me how to be a more understanding person, helped overcome some of my social anxiety, and given me a deeper love for music.

C. Bassnectar deepened my love for music.
1. Music has allowed myself to open up. It has allowed me to spread my wings and try new things. I never thought I would be paying lots of money to camp all weekend and watch people perform all day long for 3-4 days, but I do now.
2. Because Bassnectar’s music is composed for so many different genres, I appreciate some that I never have before. It also brings a bigger diversity in people to his concerts. I have built stronger and more personal relations through Bassnectar, the BNF, and music then I ever have before. D. Conclusion
