Battle against wrinkles
Advertisement plays an essential and important role in any business growth. The advertising industry is a form of communication for marketing and its main goal is the consumption of their products or services through branding. Now a days we see advertisements everywhere we go. Whether we see an ad on TV, a magazine, internet or when we are driving on the freeway, it is because of publicity that companies can create brand awareness in the general public and to make their business more popular within the circle of potential buyers. Everything from education to buying a shampoo or a pair of shoes has to rely upon advertisement. Advertisement has invaded every aspect of our day to day dealings, our conversations, and to a certain extent control our behavior as consumers of goods and services. Basically, advertisements are the ones that tell us which paper towel we should buy, where to get a massage, what soap to use, etc. Because advertisement is a multi-million dollar business, it creates more competition. In order to compete, businesses use different techniques that increases their revenue and leave their competitors behind. In the November 2012 monthly issue of In Style, countless advertisements of beautiful women in their 40’s prevail the magazine’s pages. This magazine is targeted for women in their late 20’s to early 50’s. The ad uses various advertisements such as testimonial, snob appeal, image, and reasoning to get the attention of the readers who want to look younger and has a constant battle against wrinkles.
The first technique the advertisers used was the testimonial. This technique of advertisement is an easy way of using words of a famous person to persuade. In this ad, we can see a celebrity stating that this product is the reason why she has such a beautiful skin at her age.
