In 2004 a group of scientists found the partial skeleton of a new human species we had never seen before. Researchers called the remains LB1, also nicknamed the hobbit due to its small size. It was first believed that this new species, Homo floresiensis, was a descendent of Homo erectus that had simply dwarfed over time due to limited access to resources. However, newer studies have highlighted some of the more primitive characteristics of LB1, which lead scientists to believe that the hobbits branched off from the human family tree much earlier than previously thought.…

There are mixed reactions to the acronym BBCOR in the baseball community. If someone would be to ask a pitcher what they thought about the BBCOR bats, many would say that they love the new bats. If someone were to ask someone that is a batter, they more than likely would say that they don’t like the new bats. There are those that look strictly on the statistics and say that the new bats are great because they are safer than the old BESR bats. Coaches have had to change the way they coach and play the game. No matter who you ask that is affiliated with baseball in some way, they will acknowledge that the game has been changed.…

What makes a good leader? That’s a very important question when asking the dynamics of the situation that the leader is put in. When looking at the aspects of a leader, a leader does not only lead his men, colleague, and peers to the final destination of where they want and need to be. But a good leader characteristics makes up as having a fair objective and being reasonable. Additionally, it helps knowing who you are working with to bring out their full potential for further success to whatever you are doing as a leader. To be a successful leader, you have to be prepared to fail; not only that but when leading people you need to have the three main fundamental elements to succeed. Those are trust, humbleness, and being able to explain thorough details to who you are accompanied by, even if that mean explanation is harsh. Just as Jonathan Hines, director of sales and marketing at PILLO1 explains “Leadership is expecting as much of your workers as they are capable of, but never of more than you are yourself. It is never asking someone to do something you haven't done yourself, or aren't perfectly willing to do again. Lastly, leadership is understanding that your workers have different ideas and being able to flex to incorporate their ideas in the plan”. Now that’s looking at the business aspect of a leader but that can also be incorporated into Odysseus as a front runner when he is traveling across seas because Odysseus does not illustrate much of these leadership traits as a leader throughout the odyssey.…
I think it was my first foray into parenthood that brought me to the reality that there are more important things than food to a baby. As a young parent I was under the impression that if you had a baby bottle and diapers, you were okay and safe from the ever present crying baby. It was my mother who taught me the meaning of keeping a baby happy when my wife was not there. I did my share of calling mom in panic mode and not knowing what to do because I couldn't get the baby to quit crying. She felt that the easiest way out of any given situation was "THE UMBA", the preferred word in our family for pacifier.…

It is a large network of websites including such high profile sites as BBC News and Sport, the on-demand video and radio services co-branded BBC iPlayer, the pre-school site Cbeebies, and learning services such as Bitesize. The BBC has had an online presence supporting its TV and radio programmes and web-only initiatives since 1994 but did not launch officially until December 1997, following government approval to fund it by TV licence fee revenue as a service in its own right. Throughout its short history, the online plans of the BBC have been subject to various public consultations and government reviews illustrating concerns from commercial rivals that its large presence and public funding distorts the UK market.…
