Bcba Ethical Dilemmas

The options that the BCBA had were really slim. Based on the Core Ethical Principles and the BACB Guidelines for Responsible Conduct there are two options that I suggested to try and assist the analyst. First he could disregarded the act of kindness and suggest that the mother do something that would help the treatment process. For example, maybe the mother could be reinforcing her son more than she has been when he does steal food as a part of the BCBAs treatment. The BCBA could politely deny the gifts and instead suggest an alternative that all parties would benefit from. The second option is what the behavior analyst discussed in the interview as to how he has been trying to handle it, which was to politely decline and explain the rules
