One of the channel’s was a copy of a section of an Air Force Instruction (AFI). The other was the manager, he didn’t really know what the job was or entailed. He only had the copy of the AFI. | | What was the misunderstanding that occurred?I read the instruction and assumed that I would be working in an Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) for a clinic as an administrative assistant. The job was actually an administrative assistant for the consultant to Surgeon General of the Air Force at headquarters level. | | How could the misunderstanding have been avoided?I believe that this misunderstanding could have been avoided if the manager would visited the job site and actually spoke with the contract point of contact. | |

At my previous assignment at Sheppard Air Force Base, I worked in a clinic. There if we had a new patient that came in with a splint, we would remove the splint and send the patient to get an x-ray before seeing the provider.
