The cerulean blue, crystal clear, lukewarm water brings a feeling of serenity and peacefulness. The majestic fish swim around in the endless but wondrous ocean. It inspires a feeling of awe and admiration. Every now and then ripples echoed across the ominous waters, great rings were widening outwards until there was nothing but the faint cry from the sighing winds carrying the luscious scent of the sea. The waves moved seamlessly across one another. They rise confidently against the wind as if to defy its force. Their war-cry was but a breath, lingering sigh of sorts, as if they have truly grown tedious of the naughty gale. The sea holds so many unknown wonders; breath-taking beauty. Hidden secrets held close and kept safe. All of the beauty and wonder, continuing until it met the sky and all the secrets and dreams took flight, let loose, into the open, waiting skies.
As minutes passed, the sun worked his way up to the sky, distributing its power to everything at its sight. The squawking of the seagulls stopped and then birds started to sing with high spirits, roaming around the sky trying to claim it for itself. The sky shed its colour from dark misty indigo to an illuminated shimmering blue sky. Fluffy clumps of clouds that were covering the sky before slowly fainted away into thin air and the sensational waves sparkled like diamond and the cold waters began to heat up.
The beach started to fill up with laughter. Children are scooping up the featherlike sand and remoulding it into a magnificent image of their wild imagination. The turquoise beach huts are packed with effervescent and ebullient people. Adults are playing tag as if they were kids again; the brings everyone closer to each other and brings back memories of my childhood. Everything is possible at the beach, from the way people dress to the things that they do, it describes them and their unique personality. Balls are thrown around in the air as people play volleyball and football. Sweat drips down everyone’s faces after playing hard out in the sun; some take a dive into the mysterious depths of the ocean to cool off. Water is splashed everywhere and the reflection of people’s faces showing a huge grin are drawn on the waves. The waves show a smile in return and guide people safely back to the silken sands of the beach. The turquoise beach huts are packed with effervescent and ebullient people.
The sun starts to tire and is slowly lying of its heat. The day is ending and slowly one by one, people are leaving after an exciting but tiresome day at the beach however their lively hearts are still smiling. Some stay around to see the spectacular view of when the sun sets and make a wish upon the horizon. Finally the sun dipped into a pool of internal light and the reflections of the waves twinkled in the dying light as they said farewell.

She struggles against the ripping force of the ocean current. Her arms are quickly tiring from swimming against it. She relaxes, letting her muscles fall limp. Within seconds, she is pushed out to sea. The people on the beach are so small, little tiny ants against a white sand backdrop. The tall condo skyscrapers are now tiny Lego buildings. The kids hollering and music blasting on the beach is faded like a distant memory. She will die out here, she’s sure of it. Her daughter won’t have a mother’s hand to hold when learning to walk. Her husband will be left a widower, forever broken by the loss of his love. She closes her eyes and accepts her fate as she drifts further out to sea. She floats for a long while, the salinity in the water steadily…

The ocean is a beautiful sanctuary not only for the animals that coexist within it, but also for people that spend more time in the water than on land. There are instances where the sea can represent a wide array of emotions such as respect, fear, and adventure. To me the ocean water is nothing less than a second home on the grounds that it reminds me so much of my home with emotions such as compatibility, fighting and peace coursing through the currents.…

The theme of the power of the sea and its deceptive nature are repeatedly brought up throughout the poem. Spender describes the waters of the sea as being 'mirrors flashing between fine-strung fires '. The metaphor of the sea being a mirror suggests its pretentiousness and the way in which it appears to be something it 's not, by seeming harmless. The fact that the poet refers to the sea as being an 'unfingered harp ' is an indication of its potential for power that requires only a small amount of force to be applied to its waters with a change in weather. Spender describes the land as if a celebration was taking place, 'the shore, heaped up with roses, horses, spires '. The poet uses listing of the horse an animal that had been trained by humans, roses that had been grown and cut by humans and spires which had been created by humans thus establishing the contrast between the self-willed waves of the sea and the tame earth. The deception of the people in regards of the real danger associated with the sea is brought up in this poem prevalently. The poet states that the seas gentle behaviour in pleasant weather is merely superficiality, 'a sigh like a woman 's ' proposes that like a woman who sighs in order to obtain something she desires through the means of…

The author describes the beach and sea in the beginning of the story and portrays the movement of the waves as a metaphor for the speaker’s relationship. The author uses the speaker’s actions and descriptions to reveal her personality, which is passiveness. We realize this through the line, “I did not want one grain of sand, blown by a breeze I could not feel, to change it course because of me.” This tells us that she didn’t take control of her own life and allowed things to remain unchanged, whether she liked them that way or not. The author writes in first person narrative giving the reader a direct view of the character’s feelings. The story moves between past and present along with the emotions of the speaker. The tone of the story seems to be melancholic as it shows us the speaker’s sense of aching and dejection.…

The briny air coming from the ocean tingled my nose as I breathed in a breath of fresh air. The smell is chaste and unpolluted, a welcome change from the smog that envelops me in the city. When asked to think of paradise it invariably throws up a picture of the palm tree lined, white sanded beach and clear blue sea, this is not by accident. It has long been most people’s idea of paradise, since the eighteenth century people who could, holidayed by the sea. Some of the most desirable properties and land in the world are by the sea. /THERE is a sea somewhere—whether in the lampless crypts of the earth,or among sunlit islands, or that which is an unfathomable and terrifying question between the archipelagos of stars—there is a sea (and perhaps its tides have filled those green transparent pools that glint like eyes in a spring storm cloud) which is for ever troubled and in travail—a bubbling and a heaving up of waters as though for the birth of a fountain. The sick and the crippled lie along the brims in expectation of the miracle. And at last, at last . . . A funnel of white water is twisted up and so stands, straight and still by…
