INTRODUCTION
A. Today, we are going to talk about a kind animal that every body is no stranger to – black bears. Why do we need to talk about black bears? Because they are related to a kind of tortures, which is called live bear bile. Until now, the torture is still existed in some of Asian countries. In those bear bile farms, black bears are kept in metal cages forced to remain in a prone position – unable to even stand or move – to have bile crudely and painfully extracted from their gall bladders through either implanted steel catheters or free-dripping holes in their abdomens.
B. Bear bile plays an important role in eastern medicine, but with the development of science, technology and the awareness of animal welfare, people have finding ways to use other medicines to replace live bear bile.
