Beastie Boys Research Paper

The Beastie Boys, from New York City, were an active hip hop group from 1980-2012. Their genres of music included hip hop, rap, rock, alternative hip hop, and hardcore punk in the early years. They were a white group that was accepted into the black community, even though most hip hop artist are not from a white ethnic background. The Beastie Boys as well as other hip hop artist encouraged behavior that included girls, violence, accusations of sexism, obscenity, and drugs. They traveled with some of hip hop's best during their time period and also had movie appearances. During the active years of the Beastie Boys they added their own style to the hip hop genre as well as having similarities with other artist in many areas.
