Both of Four and Beatrice are come from Abnegation family and Beatrice’s father is working for Four’s father. After Beatrice joins the Dauntless, Four is Beatrice’s tutor and help her to pass the test. When Four find Beatrice is a Divergent, he decides to help her and hide her identity. Also Beatrice’s character attracts Four and they fall in love. The significance of their relationship to the book is Beatrice can hide her identity easily and she can solve the problem with others. Also, the book shows us the conflict between Abnegation and Erudite. Their relationship can push this story line.

Choosing Ceremony-In the Choosing Ceremony, Beatrice decided to join the Dauntless which changed her life. This plot is a small climax of the book because it is so surprise that Beatrice decided to choose the Dauntless and leave her family. Also this plot shows Beatrice is a distinctive girl and pushes the story line. So, this event is important in the book.

In the book, Beatrice remembers one sentence from her history class: Faction before blood. (From Chapter five) The book described that, if young people choose other faction in the Choosing Ceremony, they need to leave their family. It is because ‘Faction before blood’, only people from same faction can live and work together. However, in my opinion, blood is more important than faction.
