The fairytale ‘Beauty and the Beast’ written by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Baumont, translated from French to English had a main character of ‘Beauty’ and a psychological evaluation was done on her, however her name was changed to Belle in this written task. It was done to prove why Beauty responds towards the Beast, who is meant to be seen as scary to Beauty given the circumstances, in the loving way that she does. Also to give the reader and understanding of her childhood and how that might have affected her. Studies on neurodevelopment disorders have found that this may be due to maternal deprivation. When applying the conditions of what may cause this syndrome it was shown that this is what Belle developed over time.
