George Yip’s Globalization Drivers (see below for details)
Track the path of your company’s expansion of International / Global business as per the details given below. If your company is not engaged in Global Business select a company of your choice.
I. How did the company initiate its first global business II. Its global business activities during the last 5-10 years III. What global initiatives the company has taken up currently, and likely to take in the immediate future IV. Can you suggest any alternative to its given future plan of expansion abroad / entry in new geography? V. Due to recent global economic slowdown, unrest in the Mid East/ North Africa, or any other regional problems, Have some of the recently introduced expansion plans of your selected company become vulnerable? VI. What remedial measure / plan can you suggest? VII. Your suggestions for taking the company’s global businesses to the next level.
For secondary research, source the latest annual report of the selected company, its website, published reports, etc. Analyze these developments in a focused manner.
For primary research, you may interact with the company on phone/personal visit based on a prepared structured questionnaire (I will be available to help you to do this)
While doing this exercise, your personal value addition would be given importance.
Please note that IB assignment focuses on International / Global Business of your company / companies. It is expected that you will use the relevant analytical tool/ IB frameworks (as discussed in the class, e.g George Yip’s Four Globalisation Drivers) in preparing your assignment and go beyond such frame works.
The objective of this assignment is to facilitate an insightful understanding of the international operations of your company.
The submission of assignment has to be in a format - with a title page (including names & roll no. of the participants), executive summary (one page), contents, the text, chapters arranged in sequential order ending with a chapter on conclusion as well as references (about 10 A4 size pages).
Please emphasize on your own value additions. And avoid Cut and Paste, which, if detected, will certainly not be appreciated
Looking forward towards interacting with you.
