To my clumsy and naive nature, instead of my prized moment with the song Für Elise that stood on the stand before me, I was gifted a set of Basic Beginner Books from my piano teacher. I was given two weeks to learn various scales,basses, clefs and practice. My fingers arched from one note to the next like a ballerina on the first day’s job. Music is open to all sorts of interpretation, and even a single note can tell a whole different story. I poured my emotions into my pieces,from sadness into gracefulness into pure joy. Music no longer felt like an everyday chore, it was a gift and a delight. In high school, I began playing frequently to my friends,family and especially my teacher. Songs can be rewritten and reinterpreted but the fundamental laws of music and harmony will never change. To this day, I continue to grow and thrive on music, from sitting in front of my teacher to performing in front of an audience, music will continue to astound me.
