The three different but similar events all had something in common for people’s equality. The 1st event that happened was the Sojourner Truth speech in 1815, at the Women's Convention in Akron, Ohio and it was focused on women's equality. The second event that occurred was the Civil War that went on from 1861 to 1865, and the reason behind the Civil War was to put an end to slavery, so slaves can have equality. The Final event that happens during the Civil war was the Gettysburg Address given by Abraham Lincoln and it was to honor the fallen soldiers who died during the Civil War or the Battle of Gettysburg, and he also gave a reminder that all men are created equal, which is kinda like people’s equality. …show more content…
The Sojourner Truth speech was important because it would change the way the world say woman and the way they treat them, because women want equality until they want their rights, the want to be free, and they want to be treated equal. The way Sojourner Truth would convince everyone that women want equality is to show how they can work as hard as a man, can eat as much as a man, and that women can turn the world around. She also talks about how other women with different color, like for example, she said that women get helped into carriages, help over muddy puddles, and The part when Sojourner Truth talked about turning the world around was when she made an allusion to a well known piece in the Bible, the Adam and Eve story, Sojourner Truth talked about how Eve turned the whole world around by making her own decision and that women can do the same.
