Behavioral Health Clinic Internship
The Behavioral Health Clinic in Boys Town, Nebraska internship would be a great opportunity for me and my career. This internship would give me the experience I need for my job in psychology and sociology. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to help people. Upon graduating college I will have a bachelor’s degree in both psychology and sociology. I am excellent with talking to people and comforting them, especially kids. While I was in high school and college I babysat and was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. This taught me how to take care of people and be there for them through their time of need. Also, it taught me responsibility, you have to be able to talk to the families while they are in need. I would be an asset to this internship because I will be able to help the young teens with their problems and give them a sense of trust. …show more content…

In addition, I am an excellent problem solver. If there is a problem with a client I throw all of my resources to come to a solution. From this internship I would gain the experience of being in the behavioral health field. I would be prepared for my future in the behavioral health field. Also this would give me the experience I need with youths that are in the clinic for behavior problems. This internship would also give me the workplace experience that I would need to know for a job in my field. In the end I think I would bring great qualities to this internship as well as I would take away an amazing experience and

After the client provides their registration information, I would start with questions in order: the client family history, socio-economic history, developmental history, emotional/psychiatric, medical history, substance use history, and then the symptom checklist. On page two, I would condense the section containing the symptoms to eliminate the repetitiveness and provide simple terms. Because this intake form is organized in clusters, it does not provide much space for documenting information. I would space out the sections providing more space for the clients to record their information. This might create more pages but all the information would be able to be addressed.…

My desire is for youths to have what I didn’t have support and someone to tell them they can do it and despite what society tells them they are beautiful. Being forced to do things I didn’t want to, bullied, survived depression and suicide. I think I have something to offer as I mentioned I was indeed colonized as in I believed that being white was normal and everything else is Ghetto; which also affected my esteem. On wednesday at the Internship I went into the classroom to watch, a presentation she was doing to the participants, it was about making goals. So she gave out some package to the participants where they had to write three goals these were supposed to be their short term goals, plus that they needed to write about at least three ways to accomplish these goals. After they wrote their long terms goals. I think that being in the class and hearing the participants talking about what their goals are and how they are going to accomplish these goals, this had a positive impact on me, because I thought about what are my goals for example graduate from the college I'm enrolled right now, I know what steps I need to take in order to accomplish that phase of my life, but I began to think about my future goals and what steps I should take to be able to accomplish them, so I was like I never thought I had to at least think of different ways to reach my goals, and I think that is a smart strategy, because you should have at least three ways to accomplish your goals in case one of those way don't work, you know you have others ways to reach them.…

My internship experience for this summer was quite engaging, exposing, knowledgeable, yet challenging at the same time. I began to serve at PSP Professional Services on May 31st. PSP Professional Services is a private practice created by one of the licensed counselors and it is funded through several insurances and/or employer-sponsored services. Moreover, my schedule consisted of going Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Occasionally, I would attend Saturdays depending if there was an interpreter needed for the day. I chose this specific facility because it is located in the Hispanic area and I support the premise behind the foundation of this facility. PSP Professional Services hopes to reach out to those who have been victimized,…

I was supposed to start in the beginning of February but did not start until late March, which set me back from the other students. Dr.Holt told me I would be interning with Alabama Rivers Alliance, I was astonished, considering that this is a big organization to me I could not believe it. Opportunities like this I thought I would never get. Interning with them and attending the conference in mobile will expand my network, knowledge and gives me a better chance in getting a good job. With Alabama Rivers I expect to do a lot of office work, physical work, and learn policies I have no clue about. I also expect the environment to be friendly and energetic but yet filled with problems to solve. Unfortunately I did not get to experience none of my assumptions because there communication was terrible and was too busy for an…

In order to be a good candidate for this internship, a student must be able to perform tasks in a thorough manner and also be very responsible. These two things are the two single most important things that I learned from interning as security guard at Elk Ridge Ranch. If I were looking into interning with this organization, I would look forward to all of the different people you will get to meet and provide security for, and also the overall satisfaction resulting from providing security for all of the people that visit Elk Ridge Ranch. I have nothing but positive things to say about this organization, and if I were an individual looking for an internship that will lead to very positive outcomes, this would be the place to…
