ACTIVITY 1
In the very first activity of our behavioural science class we were divided in the groups of six where we had to discuss on the topic EUTHANASIA- should it be made legal. Our points of discussion were as follows:
We do not have to kill the patient to kill the symptoms. Nearly all pain can be relieved.
Opening the doors to voluntary euthanasia could lead to non-voluntary and involuntary euthanasia, by giving doctors the power to decide when a patient’s life is not worth living. In the Netherlands in 1990 around 1,000 patients were killed without their request.
Reports from the Netherlands, where euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide are legal, reveal that doctors do not always report it.
The assumption that patients should have a right to die would impose on doctors a duty to kill, thus restricting the autonomy of the doctor. Also, a ‘right to die’ for some people might well become a ‘duty to die’ by others, particularly those who are vulnerable or dependent upon others.
This activity helped us a lot as it added interest and gave us the opportunity to practice using the language of the discipline.
ACTIVITY 2
In the second activity each group was asked to bring 10-12 straws. Where using the straws we had to build anything we wanted to using our imagination and work in a team. Our group made a house which was half broken but was still standing because of its strong base which means if the values of a person are strong no matter what happens even in a worse situation he will stand still facing the problems.
This activity helped us in knowing the importance of team work. We all have different skills, knowledge and personal attributes. By utilising all of these different aspects in a team, more ideas can be generated. As more ideas are generated, more creative solutions are generated, leading to
