I think that all of these things play a part in how my personality was shaped. I think that people become who they are because of the environments and people they surround themselves with. I grew up hanging around bad asses and trouble makers, so that personality trait is in me although I feel I have grown out of that kind of thing. My friends definitely had more influence over me then my family did. As far as culture goes, the Hip-hop culture definitely played a big part in shaping my personality. I can say that there is one person in particular who helped shape my personality. This person is about 7 years older than me, so I sort of looked up to him and learned a lot from him. He has been a good friend of mine since I was 18. I am now 30 and he and I think a lot alike. I don’t think that nature had anything to do with it, seeing as how I really don’t like to be amongst nature too much. I am more of a city person although I don’t mind nature sometimes.
Self Esteem Essay I think that different things come into play here. For me personally, my self-esteem comes from the idea that I am a person of worth. If I were not doing anything with myself, if I am dead broke, if I can’t get layed, and have nothing to contribute to society, my self-esteem would greatly diminish. So, if I just focus on making my self better physically and financially, I will have all of the self-esteem that I need. It is unfortunate that my self-esteem is contingent on my status in society, but that is just how I have been programed, apparently. Like I said, my ability to get girls, get money, and look good play into my self esteem big time. If I can loose about 20 pounds, have a decent career, and have a beautiful woman, my self-esteem will be through the roof. I think that the self is really is on the inside when no one else is around.
