Having the consistency and accuracy is the first step to being a good pitcher. These two skills are the most important skills to acquire during pitching. One must be able to throw consistent strikes for long periods of time, otherwise no plays or outs will be made during the game. For example, if the pitcher does not place the ball in the strike zone on a consistent basis, then the batters will all be put on base and the game will be prolonged.
