Being a humbled person is a respected and valued characteristic in many people today, however humbling yourself for society rather than with your personal will is not humble at all. Society has created a picture of what the “perfect” person is, someone who gives to others and lives for a reason, but what if the real perfect person was someone who never needed to give to others, because they never took from the beginning, and lived life the way it was meant to be lived. A humbled, noble adult seems to be the complete opposite thought, but not in this case of course. Immaturity in this context is choosing to die with a title or a name for one's self, someone who enjoys being noticed. Meanwhile a mature is seen as a man who does not worry about anything but what is good for himself, what will help him understand himself. “You are wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from the joy of human relationships.” Into the Wild quote that shows that existence is not about making yourself and others happy, but about being happy. With this comes maturity and choice making. The way a person views the world, what is going on in the world, and understands that several people have several opinions shows maturity. “Some game. If you get on the side where all the hot-shots are, then it's a game, all right – I'll admit that. But if you get on the other side, where there aren't any hot-shots, then what's a game about it? Nothing. No game.” The Catcher in the Rye, shows that Holden, the main character, somewhat understands this meaning.
