Being Old Research Paper

Being old can sometimes take a toll on the older generation. Take for instance my grandmother. Watching the world transitioning over from slavery until now has been a lot to take in. Out living some of her siblings and some friends, she has managed to embrace things as they come. Nurturing four children, three daughters and one son has been the most delightful thing in her life. Since her husband passing, she has been on her up until she started having some memory loss. That is when the family decided to have my aunt move in with her. For the first couple of years, we thought that everything was fine. She did not have any complaints until one day she told me to pay a bill. That is when everything started to unfold.

My aunt was always helping her by taking her to the doctor, giving her medicine when she needed them, but especially being there for her because she lived alone. However, she took advantage of the situation because she knew my grandmother’s condition. My grandmother has been diagnosed with early dementia. She took advantage of that hoping that no one would find out. Therefore, this caused my grandmother to pay for a few things she never brought. This is happening in America right now. The older generation is getting taken advantage of by their love ones. The people that we less expect to do anything are the ones who are doing it. Some people think that it is ok because they are taking care of to take their money. As far as it being a beneficial relationship, it was not. This was detrimental as far as their trust between each other as well as the finical aspect of things. My aunt could have ruined her credit and we would have never known. If my grandmother was being abused in any other way, I believed she would have said something to me. She confided to me about other things that were happening. I could not keep quite any more. One thing it has done is drew a wedge between siblings. My grandmother forgiven her. That is what really
