Being Successful In Writing Essay
Why do you think that students have difficulty being successful in writing and how will you fix this problem? One reason a student may not like to write is because he or she has dyslexia or dysgraphia. Students with dyslexia have a hard time interpreting letters and words. Students with dysgraphia have difficulty writing. These two implications can cause students to easily become frustrated with writing. If these students have IEPs that state that teachers can scribe for them, then I would assist them with their writing assignments. If not, I would help students by constantly encouraging them to continue going and to not let their disability overcome them. Another reason a student may have difficulty writing is because they are not interested. To fix this issue, I would try to have students write about things that they are interested in or passionate about. I think it would also be nice to have students advocate for causes that they are passionate about. If students are passionate about politics, then I’ll have them write to the governor. If students are passionate about teaching, then they can write to people in education. Whatever students are interested in is what I will try to base their writing assignments around. Teachers need to recognize the creativity within students and embrace it. If students enjoy SLAM poetry, then let them write in the form of poetry. If students have a passion for video games, then let them write about video games. If students are social butterflies, then let them write letters to their friends for their writing assignments. Teachers just need to let students write about what is important to them. In order for students to become successful at writing, teachers need to let students write about what excites
