• Product: to make, distribute, and sell the finest quality all-natural ice cream and related products in a wide variety of innovative flavors made from Vermont dairy products.
• Economic: to operate the company on a sound financial basis of profitable growth, increasing value for our shareholders, and creating career opportunities and financial rewards for our employees.
• Social: to operate the company in a way that actively recognizes the central role that business plays in the structure of society by initiating innovative ways to improve the quality of life of the board.
Regarding the product dimension the company was positively fulfilled its predictions in the mission statement. B & J had made finest quality natural ice cream with a huge variety of innovative flavor (cherry Garcia, chocolate chip cookie dough, chunky monkey, peanut butter cup…).
In the economic dimensions the company didn’t fulfilled its mission statements in a long term because their main objective is not maximizing profit and increasing value for shareholders as every company does. However, the company tried to be financially sounds good , so they increases the price per unit to make more profit and in order to stay in business even though their initial purpose was “ice cream for the people”. They also chose to sacrifice short-term profits for social gains.
Concerning the social dimensions the company is totally fulfilling the mission statement because they are trying to enhance the social life for community, local, national, and international. For example, the B & J donate 7.5% of its pretax earnings to various social foundations and community action groups. The company also supported causes such as green peace international and Vietnam veterans of America foundation by signing petitions and recruiting volunteers from its staff and public.
