a. Audience hook: Breastfed children have a 20 percent lower risk of dying between the ages of 28 days and 1 year. (Voices for Americas Children, N.D) in this presentation I will discuss how beneficial breastfeeding is to a child.
b. Thesis statement: Research suggests breastfeeding is a critical step in raising a healthy baby, because it develops a healthy immune system for the child, and it helps build bone structures.
c. Main points:
i. The immune system benefits from the breast milk. ii. Breastfeeding helps the development of bone structure in a baby.
II. Infants are fragile and can catch a disease or infection quickly. Because their bodies and immune system are not fully developed, they must be treated with special care and given the right nourishment. (Show visual aid) a. Breast milk has substances that protect the baby against a wide variety of diseases and infections not only while it is breastfeeding but in some cases after it has weaned.
