Benefits of Cloning

Have you ever thought of having two of yourselves? All the pranks you would do to others, fooling other people/teachers. Imagine all the work two of you can get done. It may seem like a sci-fi movie but scientist are actually doing this today. There are many benefits to cloning people, animals and plants. There are lots of ways in which cloning can be beneficial to us. A few examples of how cloning can help us solve problems are by genetically producing humans to test out new medicine for diseases, cloning organs for transplants, weapons, and help us in war. This can also benefit us in farming. We can create new plants, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. This would help starvation in third world countries. Cloning animals also has benefits, it can help endangered species not be in extinction, there would be less starvation, and we would make more animal based products. The idea of cloning humans or human body parts can be very helpful to curing diseases and for organ transplants. Doctors will be able to replace damaged body parts in the human body, and treat many diseases and disorders with no problem. If we are able to clone people we can use them in testing labs to find cures to diseases such as HIV/AIDS and cancer. When cells would be needed for transplants it would be possible to use them by taking human skin cells or stem cells from people, letting them be changed into the specific cell type that people needed for the disease to be treated. “In the realm of medicine and health, gene cloning has been used to

produce vaccines and hormones. Cloning techniques have already led to the inexpensive production of the hormone insulin for treating diabetes and of growth hormones for children who do not produce enough hormones for normal growth” (Clone 1). This shows how scientists have done experiments with stem cells and have produced insulin for diabetics or just simply producing hormones for doctors to inject into young children.
