Benefits of Home Schooling

“Home schooling is becoming an increasingly popular option with many American families” (“Benefits” par. 1). Public schools are becoming very unsafe. Drugs, violence, and sex are the issues going on in public schools. Students lives will be ruined if they are around those issues. Instead of going to public schools, students should try home schooling. The students will be safer while being home schooled. The benefits of home schooling provide easy scheduling, family protection, and better concentration for students. First of all, easy class scheduling benefits students of home schooling. Parents choose class schedules for their children. “School hours are flexible to accommodate family schedules and vacations” (“Benefits” par. 2). Also home schooling uses less time than traditional schools. In traditional schools, students have more time studying during classes because the amount of students. In home schooling the students need less time because there are not as many students (Linsenbach 105). In addition, parents choose students’ subject when home schooling. Students can do one subject each day(Linsenbach 111). For example, history, English, math, and Bible do need to be taught every day. Along with easy class scheduling, home schooling encourages students to have fun. Home schoolers should spend more time with their family. “Spending more time together increases family unity and closeness” (“Benefits” par. 2). Home schoolers also could spend more time on field trips to learn history. “We have more opportunities… we have taken trips to historic Gettysburg, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Boston, and Lexington” (“Benefits” par. 5). “We have also gone a five-week camping trip to the western United States… to see our history and geography come alive” (“Benefits” par. 5).
