Here are some themes I got from the movie: bravery, courage, honor and heroism. Bravery, for others, doing it alone and defenceless can be a formula for failure but not for Beowulf. Courage, a dauntless man born with unlimited faith to fight for what is neccesary. Honor, people respect him and believed for what he is capable of. Heroism, just like others, Beowulf died as a king and hero for sacrificing his life for the sake of his constituents.
But of course, no matter how
great a man is there's always this one thing that will reveal his weakness, a woman. I can't blame Beowulf for that , he's trapped in a situation where I guess everyone else will do the same thing. How ironic for Beowulf that he have to kill his own offspring for the stability of the entire land. The story implies that man no one is perfect, even a movie character commits mistake. The mere fact is that, all of us can be a hero in our own little ways but unfortunately, we can't be as legendary as Beowulf.
