Beowulf Movie Pitch
Good evening Mr. Producer, I would like to pitch you on the idea of a Beowulf movie remake. I know the most recent remake was a flop, but I believe that my idea has the potential to be much more successful. Concerning the plot of the movie in relation to the book, I would like to leave it as close as possible. Obviously not everything can be exactly the same because of time constraints, but historical accuracy is of the utmost importance. Therefore, only minor plot and manuscript changes will occur such as the removal of the long descriptions of Beowulf and other characters, which take up most of the book. Brad Pitt will play the title character, Beowulf. Beowulf is a loyal, faithful, and courageous leader of men; this is a quality I believe Brad Pitt can effectively convey to movie viewers based on his previous roles. The role of King Hrothgar will go to the honorable Morgan Freeman because I believe his aura and wisdom parallel the wisdom shown by the great king. The other minor roles will be filled up once the movie is green lighted. As far as the filming location, I believe it is in our best interest to film the movie in Europe, where the landscape is most similar to the landscape in the original plot. The plot details great European castles and meeting halls, which cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world. The scenery and landmarks will provide a great backdrop to what is already an interesting plot. The score and musical selections in the film must be up-tempo and have a classical feel to it. Samples of music from the Middle Ages, particularly the Anglo-Saxon period, will be used to help enhance the genuineness of the plot. During action scenes and the battle scenes between Beowulf and Grendel or Beowulf and Grendel’s mother, there will be grandiose music with a large choir in the background and heavy instruments playing in the orchestra. At no point in the
