Beowulf's Superhuman Strength

At the beginning of the story Beowulf is already described as superhuman. The instances showing Beowulf's superhuman strength is regularly expressed by the poet throughout the story. The poet does not only describe the feat, but he also mentions how no other single man can complete the tasks that Beowulf completes.

The First of them appears in the battle with Grendel, when the other Geats tried to assist Beowulf, but their weapons were too weak against to get through Grendel's tough hide. There was also a spell against every mortal man that would try to strike the beast, whenever they would try to attack the beast their blades would become blunt. Be that as it may, Beowulf still managed to rip Grendel's arm off using only his bare hands and inhuman strength. Still filled with rage after killing Grendel's mother Beowulf went back to the already deceased Grendel and cut its head off with the giant forged sword he found in his mother's lair. It took four men to carry the head on spears back to Herot, and when they arrived Beowulf single handedly tossed the head on the table in front of the Danes who had recently abandoned him.
Some people consider firefighters and doctors heroes, and they don’t have superhuman abilities, but it's because of their will to help people everyday and bring smiles to those peoples faces. Beowulf does also possess other hero abilities. He never thought twice about fighting the monsters that has done nothing but kill all the people that came before him, that’s evidence of his courage. He was loyal to King Hrothgar who once saved his father evidence by his arrival to kill the monsters threatening to destroy Herot. He was loyal to his own king by bring home gifts from Hrothgar. Most importantly he was loyal to his own men by deciding to stay with them and sleep in the same place rather sleeping in a place of
