He Doesn’t Read Our Titles When looking at all the possible candidates for the upcoming 2016 presidential elections, one has to look no further than Bernie Sanders to find the best candidate. Since the 60’s Sen. Sanders has consistently fought for equal rights of racial minorities, women, people in the LGBT community., and the disabled. He has also fought to lessen income inequality by focusing on creating more jobs, increasing minimum wage, and improving upon affordable medical coverage. He is also one of the only candidates to have no funding from affiliated PACs, or political action committees, meaning he has no ties or obligations to corporations if and when he becomes …show more content…
First He plans to help women gain access to more affordable and accessible health care options. Women currently pay more for health care options and Sen. Sanders would combat that by supporting organizations such as Planed Parenthood. This will allow women to gain access to inexpensive medical services such as mammograms and contraceptive options. Organizations such as these also help protect public health of all Americans by offering sexual transmitted infection testing to all sexes and genders alike. This will also help women have access to safe abortions. while many would disagree with the practice of abortions, and most believe it should be prevented whenever possible, its crucial to recognize the important of the availability of this service. Many women can face medical complications with pregnancy, and not providing this could put them and the quality of their child's life at risk. Some women also find themselves thrust into the position of becoming a single parent or see a child as a connection to an abusive relationship. Unplanned pregnancies could financially ruin a woman’s future thus increasing the disparity between women and men. There are also a plethora of other reasons why women may need abortions, but whatever the reason Sen. Sanders wants to ensure that those options are available by making sure the Supreme Court has members that side with women and women’s
