Bernie Sanders Persuasive Speech
You want to grow up in a more modern world? I believe electing Bernie Sanders to be our new president will create a better future for young youth like you. Bernie can finish what Obama has started in creating an accepting America and a better future for our generation. We will look over Bernie's stands on accepting money, drug wars, and promises.
Think about this. Bernie refuses to take money from millionaires. From the Huffington post sigh “25 Reasons Why I’m Voting for Bernie Sanders” I found this quote. “Hillary Clinton accepted $100,000 from Donald Trump in donations for her foundation.” This shows that his opponent (Hillary) will accept money from her own opponent. Does this mean she agrees with his ideas? We can’t say for sure, however Bernie refuses to satisfy the millionaires by accepting money. This shows that he cannot be a president that will be controlled by people with money. The new world will be one where everyone can have a say. Bringing us into our next reason.
Bernie doesn’t believe the action taken on the so called “drug wars” are working to help those who have become addicted. Instead he proposes we stop fighting and start helping. According to the article “Bernie Sanders on Drug Policy” it

Won a battle requiring the Government Accountability Office to conduct an audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
And passed an amendment making sure that solar water heaters provide at least 30 percent of hot water for new federal buildings.
He’s already proven to us that “Yes he did!”
Now seeing the three main reason I’m voting Sanders, why don’t you consider it? I did my research now you do yours. I’m sure you’ll find exactly what I did, that being that Bernie Sanders will be an amazing American President. Trump’s slogan is “make America great again.”? Well with Sanders, that might actually happen. Why? Because, “Yes he

Bernie Sanders has lead the poll in New Hampshire and Iowa, according to CBS News polls Sanders has surpassed Clinton by 10% in Iowa, and 22% in New Hampshire. He claims to be a Democratic socialist, for some that’s a red flag in this “self-made” society. But apparently this is not the case anymore. There has been a lack of belief towards Sanders, even though he shows leading the polls, people believe he won’t make it to the White House. Although, Sanders supporters are extremely enthusiastic, with all the media focusing on Clinton and Trump, Sanders has made himself a symbol for the American people. He is not extremely wealthy unlike Clinton and Trump, and he is not accepting super PAC. In other words, he is competing against millionaires…

Vic Berardelli, a former Regional Director of the Republican Liberty Caucus, states in his article entitled, “Why Bernie Sanders won’t win the Democratic nomination,” that “Bernie Sanders cannot win the nomination” because, “Voters don’t know him.” Though Berardelli is correct, I would argue that there is plenty of time for Sanders to get his message out there and educate people on what he believes in. Additionally, if Sanders’ followers were to host grass root rallies to help support his campaign and motivate people to learn more about Sanders’ views, then the amount of time it would take for people to become aware of who Sanders is would be minimalized. Sally Kohn, a columnist at CNN, agrees in her CNN article titled, “Is America Bern-ing?” She writes that “Once Americans learn more about what Sanders brand of socialism looks like, they may like him even more.” This goes to show that Sanders has what it takes to get the nomination as long as he gets his message out to the…

Bernie Sanders believes that the mass media has a conservative bias. He states it is one of America’s best-kept secrets that a handful of huge corporations control everything Americans hear, see, and read. It is true that most Americans get their news from television. A high majority of news channels, radio stations, and TV talk shows are owned or hosted by conservatives. He points out that General Electric, one of the biggest corporations in the world, owns NBC. General Electric has a history of anti-union activity, financial interests in weapons manufacturing, finance, and nuclear power. Not only that, but they are a major contributor to the Republican Party. ABC is owned by Disney Corp., which produces products in sweatshops in underdeveloped countries. Most things you see on the news today have nothing to do with issues involving the middle class. Sanders states there are a lot of programs on TV talking about how to get rich on the stock market, but few specials on how to form a union. Not only is it like this on TV, but the radio is the same way. You would think a nation more or less split down the middle with liberals and conservatives would have the same ratio with radio talk shows, but it doesn’t.…

He has also fought to lessen income inequality by focusing on creating more jobs, increasing minimum wage, and improving upon affordable medical coverage. PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Sanders quote “ TAX THE RICH!” ( Figure 1) which that America should stop taxing the middle class and the poor and start taxing the rich. Trump, being a billionaire he should be taxed more thats why Bernie points to him in the cartoon (Figure 1). Money needs to stop always being taken away from people that don't have much to spare. They have more money and they can replenish it faster than the middle class can. Bernie wants to help America for the better. Trump on the other hand thinks just because he is a very rich man he can say and do whatever he wants. He has the money and money being everything today, he pretty much can. That still doesn’t make it right…

The United States of America was formed under the gist of freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The visions of many leaders have transpired from history as either monumental or incredibly synthetic. Many presidents of America had faced tremulous nation-wide issues, down to the roots of George Washington who had lead troops that solidified the freedom of our country from Britain; Abraham Lincoln had been present when the issues of slavery had taken root in our nation, Franklin Roosevelt, a pioneer of all presidents gained the right as the only man to serve the country for three terms after diligently turning America’s greatest economic downfall around. History says it all. Today, years after slavery has been abolished, after the rights of women, African Americans, Latinos, Mexicans and Asians has been fully granted on paper in this great nation; Years after an economic crash that rid of American jobs and American dreams – we face the same challenges. Today, two thousand and twelve, we are faced with issues that has been prompted even in the past years that these leaders have gone through. Each generation, we fight for a new right, whether to love, to live or for a simple choice – we all must go through it all. I believe in the words and the morals that Barack Obama has instilled in our nation. Although times are difficult, challenges for each and every one of us more vigorous – I have no doubt in my mind that the best way to triumph is to never do it alone; as this great man once had said, “we do not close the door of opportunity once we are through it – no, we open that door and give someone else the chance to reach it.”…
