Bernie Sanders was really intelligent, and this said he studied for a year 1959-1960 at Brooklyn College before moving to the University of Chicago. During this year Bernie Sanders was then involved in the civil rights movement. He marched to support the different races, because he put himself in their shoes. But it was not until the 1960’s that his interest in politics grew. Sanders then began his political career in 1971 as a member of the Liberty Union Party. The people of Vermont saw how hard working Bernie Sanders was, I mean Sanders volunteer to be the director of the nonprofit American People’s Historical Society and that made everyone look up to him because he was making justice. In 1981, Bernie Sanders became the mayor of Vermont and changed the citizen’s lives. He won by 12 votes! And to him this was an honor, several business people called him Burlington’s best mayor, because he did things like revitalize the waterfront and create an opportunity here.

Not only did Sanders did good to these people, but today, running for the presidential election Sanders stated that immigrants are not what Donald Trump says. Immigrants he says, are hard working people who are only providing education for their kids, and coming to America for a better future. In the eyes of all immigrants they were amazed that Bernie Sanders was on their side. Because Bernie too, was a son of Jewish immigrants. So he knows how it’s like living in the shoes of an immigrant.

In 2006 he ran for the senate against republican businessman Richard Tarrant, and he won the election and made it to the office. As a senator, Bernie Sanders was very organized, and he received so much attention for his speech against tax relief, unemployment insurance reauthorization, and job creation act of 2010. People encouraged him to run for the 2012 presidential election, and they even signed petitions in order for him to run. In the year of 2016 Bernie Sanders is now running for president and seeks for justice for all kinds of people of different races. Bernie Sanders is considered a hero to immigrants, African Americans, Women, and to the people of Vermont. Because what Bernie is trying to do is making America better. He wants Immigrants rights, he said “ I want you on the other side of this border ” to the deported Mexicans on May 23rd when he went to visit the Mexican border wall. He wants women rights, black rights, meaning everyone’s rights.
