BEST GIFT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED

The best gift I have ever received has recently been gifted to me by my parents in the form of an Apple I pod touch. The sleek look of the gadget was enough to make me fall in love with it. The touch interface is superbly smooth and makes access of the applications and music very easy. The sound quality of the device is awesome and takes the listener away from the world. It has become my indispensable partner in gym, travelling, walks, and at times even in the class!!!! Headphones on, and off I go. 8 GB of memory offers me to have endless music access without having to worry about the memory shortage. The games and other applications in the device help in passing the time while travelling and my boredom disappears once I get engrossed in the wide array of games in the gadget. The Wi-Fi helps me access internet on the go and helps me get connected to the world, it has Facebook, Twitter, G talk, everything. The applications like newsletters and business magazines can also be installed on it and help in remaining updated. There is no need to carry the bulk of my favourite novels anymore because I can have them on this sleek device and read them whenever and wherever I want. It’s like a mini computer which fits right on my palm. Apart from the utility that it offers, it helps make a style statement as well.

Belonging is a controlling force influenced by our personal situation and is characterized by the understanding of our relationships and interactions with others. An individual’s perception of belonging is greatly influenced by interactions with the environment and their surroundings. This is clearly seen in The Simple Gift by Stephen Herrick which demonstrates elements of belonging and acceptance through the 'pain and suffering' of rejection, 'homelessness' and 'dealing with death' by the characters Billy, Caitlin and Old Bill. Similarly in the movie “Freedom Writers”, it explores the ideas of taking control of one’s identity and accepting life’s simple pleasures.…

The first generation iPod was one of the first mobile devices that a consumer could carry around comfortably. Before this, the bulky, disc-shaped Sony Walkmen dominated the market, requiring the user to have to go out of his way to purchase a CD and needing to change the CD in the event that he wanted to listen to a different album. Like changing a lens on a DSLR camera, it was impractical and time consuming. Therefore, Steve Jobs created the iPod, a mini personal computer that could hold music on a small device that allowed the user to switch from song to song easily, reducing the weight of the music kit and the time needed to change the song. The iPod also paved the path for the future of all mobile downloading through the creation of iTunes, a service still widely used today. The first generation iPhone was, perhaps, the most revolutionary piece of technology of the 2000s, bringing to the table a microprocessor, a touch screen, an iPod, a camera, a television, a telephone, a web browser, and a calculator all in a singular package. Before this phone, other phones used a trackpad or a stylus as means of interacting with the device. Consequently, losing or breaking the tool resulted in a useless piece of technology, in addition it the bulk of having to carry around another pen only for a phone. Steve Jobs aimed to ameliorate the situation by using a…

Apple is one of the best known and widely used brands on the market. Any individual who goes for shopping does not necessarily end up buying products. There are several stages a consumer goes through before he finally picks up things available in the market. Buying an apple iPad can satisfy both psychological and functional need of a customer. For example the person can use it to relax with friends, and at same time conduct business on it, such as trading stocks. Functional needs pertain to the performance of a product and service while Psychological needs pertain to the personal gratification of consumer’s association with the product or service [Grewal & Levy, 2012]. A survey that was conducted on usage of ipad reveals that, there is 64% increase in usage of ipad than to computers. The more people play with the ipad, the more they like it, and the more they use it [2]. This clearly states that people are highly satisfied with the product and are willing to use it more than any other gadgets.…

This is not an easy book, but it is a classic (first pub. 1923- 1925) and an insightful book for any serious student of sociology or anthropology. Mauss provides a view of human evolution, based on empirical research comparing exchange worldwide. Implicit in this analysis is a theory of change (Mary Douglas’ foreword, p. xiii): “changes in the organization of production radically transform the system of categories and beliefs.” Understanding archaic societies helps us understand our own.…

Society is becoming reformed in the ways of technological advances. Nowadays about 8 to 12 percent of people own a tablet or iPad. The iPad is in high demand because, according to Apple.com, it contains, “…the breakthrough in retina display…twice the speed, twice the graphics…up to 128GB of storage…built in WIFI...built in apps…” (Apple.com). Also, according to Adriana Norton in EzineArticles “…The iPad combines an iPhone 's portability with the power and usability of a laptop. It 's got the best of both worlds. It is light and thin, yet it 's got a screen large enough to be user-friendly” (Norton). Ipads are good for everyone, even older people.…
