Best Thing that I Never Had As we know, life is not always a garden with flowers. We often have in our hands some roses but that turn out to be with a lot of thorns in it. This is the interesting part of it and we are faced with hard tasks from time to time. The way we deal with these challenges defines who we are. Family is the closest union among people and it is the base column of our lives. Family is a holy thing and the starting point of success or failure in life. Our parents are the guidance that we follow to have a decent life. They are the key factors in giving us wings to fly independently, but can also have a negative impact. Why do I say this? Let me tell you a story that indeed has marked my life. One morning would change me forever, and my parents were the leading actors in this drama.
. It was early in the morning when I was awaken from the shouts my father was making; he was screaming to my mom and was asking her to leave. I felt a stomach ache like every morning but that day it was stronger. I went to my mom to ask her if we can watch cartoons like we usually did, before she went to work, but that day her eyes were covered in tears. I jumped into her hug and asked:” Mom do you have a stomach ache too?” Even though she was crying, with her angel face, she smiled to me, and she said “No my pumpkin pie, I just have to go at work earlier today, I’m not able to watch cartoons with you, but I promise that we will watch them together another time.” In that moment, my father came from garden and when he saw us he yelled to her “You are still here? Get off of our lives we don’t want you here,” I remember that I started to cry and said to my father” Dad I’m scared, you are screaming to loud.” He took me in his hand and replied to me “Oh my sweet-heart, don’t be afraid, dad will always be here to protect you.’’ Since my mother left the house, I lost my dad too. He promised me that he would care for me but he did not. He forgot me, and he started to spend time in night clubs. Every night, I waited until late night for him to come, and to wish me sweet dreams, but he did not come. While I was waiting for him, I realized that maybe God does not love me, because I was a little girl without parents. I asked myself many times “What did I do wrong?” That made me think that I’m a bad person, and as result I started to lose confidence. I felt lonely and afraid. Now, for me everything was the same, in other words nothing was worth it. Every day I was growing up, but I hoped for a better life. I started to cook for myself, clean and take care of my house, until the Center for Social Service came at my house and sent me in the orphanage. Orphanage was a place when I met a lot of children with different stories in life, they were homeless too. The actions of my parents destroyed my life, they ruined my dreams. They made me think that God hates me. They were not able to solve their own problems, and they found it easier to divorce than to try finding a solution that was not going to harm us so much. I challenged my life and learned that children are orphans are victims of their parent choices. This is why I did not have the chance to enjoy the love of my parents, but will this influence me? Would I be a good parent for my children even though I grew up without my own, I managed to get back on my feet and give a direction to my life. I wish from the bottom of my heart that no child experiences what I had to go through. My advice to parents everywhere is to love their life and to try to fix it when something is broke, not throw it away. The causes will be great so we will have to watch out what choices we make in life because we are not the only ones that are affected.
