The BBB runs a website where customers can file both positive and negative reports regarding a particular company. When a consumer files a report, the BBB notifies the company whom the report was filed against and the company is given an opportunity to respond publically to the report.
Companies and businesses can choose to partner and work with the BBB, or they can choose to ignore the reports on the website.
How The Rating System On The BBB Works
The BBB gives businesses letter grades, with the best letter grade being an A+ and the worst letter grade being an F. These letter grades are compiled using a variety of different criteria. The primary criteria that the BBB uses to determine a letter grade are as follows:
