We see that hate throughout the earth's history is just as abrasive now as it was back in the beginning. The phrase ‘history repeats itself’ used to seem true to me, until I realized that that the rough instances of hate never went away, they were just buried deep within our culture. Away from the surface of the news but embedded in our culture. I began to wonder if progress is even possible. It is already quite certain that we will never live in a world without oppression. There is too much glory in power for that to happen. However, I would like to live in a world where most of us can view each other as equals, regardless if we notice outward differences. It’s hard to believe that will legitimately occur after viewing films like the one we saw in class. It doesn’t matter if it has been 1000 years or just twenty years, people are still struggling to survive as a consequence of hate.
