Bibasha Basu
Bipasha is often credited as being one of the most beautiful and sexy female actors we have in Bollywood today. In fact, even her Critics Award has credited her for working hard to become a famous model. She was ranked 8th in Times 50 most Desirable Women in 2011. Twice, she was named as the “Sexiest Woman in Asia” by “Eastern Eye”, in 2005 and 2007. Given her slim frame and bold image, Bipasha is a head-turner to her fans around the world, but she recently told the media that as a child and teenager, she wasn’t considered pretty due to her darkish skin tone. “I was never meant to be beautiful”. “I was a short, dark and round girl”.
Bipasha was born on 7th Jan 1979 in New Delhi, India in a Bengali family. Her family lived in Delhi until she was eight and later they moved to Kolkata. She attended “Apeejay High School” in Delhi.
Bipasha planned on studying medicine and her dream was to be a doctor, Bipasha had science as a streamed science till the twelfth standard when she was still attending school at Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, from where she went on to The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College, to study commerce.
Bipasha started her successful modelling career when she was just 16 years old. Model Mehr Jessica Rampal suggested that Bipasha take up modelling seriously and later she won “Godrej Cinthol Supermodel Contest” & “Ford Models Supermodel of the World contest” in 1996. Bipasha's first most important assignment was for a Calida advertisement with Dino Morea. After her successful modelling career she moved to films. Her first Bollywood appearance was with “Ajnabee” in 2001. She did a villain role in the movie and she earned “Film fare Award for Best Female Debut” for her performance in the film. Bipasha’s first blockbuster film was Raaz in 2002 opposite Dino Morea. Later she acted in more movies that were hits like Jism, No Entry, Phir Hera Pheri, Dhoom 2, and Race.
Basu was in a relationship with her Raaz co-star Dino Morea since 1996
