Science is a way to gain knowledge and understanding about our natural world that can be precise through measurements. It is carefully carried out through a systematic process called the scientific method. The scientific method was the general development procedure for collecting data. Scientists, in every field, are consistently rechecking their data for any errors. Archaeology, as a science, takes facts from our natural world through observations of objects, events, and phenomena. These scientists than use reason to carry on with their research. An example of this in the archaeological field would be the work of David Hurt Thomas, who worked with the densities and distribution of artifacts in the Great Basin. These scrolls reveal information that scholars couldn’t find in the Bible before (Ulrich, 2004). The community played an important role in the formation of traditional scripture. These scrolls increased the understanding of revelation for the people who wrote and collected the biblical books. Because the Dead Sea Scrolls stopped the biblical criticism over the past two centuries, the Dead Sea scrolls have such a big impact on the Bible. There is a corresponding scroll for each book of the Old Testament, except the book of Esther. The Dead Sea Scrolls was written before Jesus came to the world, not after Jesus came to the world. Making the Christian more happy is the dead sea scrolls contained the most controversial parts of the Bible. Some scholars doubted in the past whether the book of Daniel was written historically accurate. Much of the information in Daniel is also found in the Dead Sea Scrolls (Mark, 2007). Some scholars, who against the Bible, spent so much time building the fortress, now is boom collapsed by the Dead Sea Scrolls. The records in the Bible were proved to be true. Since then, no archaeologist dared to challenge the…

The Dead Sea Scroll were found by young Bedouin goat herders in January of 1947. While searching for stray goats along the cliff caves of the Dead Sea the Bedouin herders stumbled upon one of the caves. In this cave they found pottery jars with the first seven manuscripts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The discovery of these manuscripts are thousands of years older than the oldest version of the Hebrew texts of the bible. They are believed to be written by the Essenes during the period from about 200 B.C to 68 A.D. The Dead Sea Scrolls are ancient manuscripts that were found at several sites near the western shore of the Dead Sea in a small community named Khirbet Qumran (Kee 62). The most important site was near Qumran, where eleven caves containing scrolls and artifacts were discovered. In early 1947, a shepherd boy by the name of Muhammed the Wolf was searching for some goats near a cliff on the western shore of the Dead Sea. Climbing up after one that had strayed away, he noticed a cave that he had never seen before, and so he decided to throw a stone into it. There was an unfamiliar sound of breakage. The boy was frightened and ran away. Later on that day, the boy returned with another boy and together they explored the cave. Inside, they came upon a numerous amount of tall clay jars that were filled with tiny manuscripts and scraps of scrolls that were poorly preserved (Wilson 1). When the boy took off the lids to the jars a very bad smell arose. The smell came from dark lumps that were found inside all the jars. When he got these lumps out of the cave, he saw they were wrapped up in wax. Although these manuscripts had faded and crumbled in places, they were in general remarkably clear (Wilson 3). Some of the…

"The findings include the jars in which the scrolls…

The first 39 books of the larger work called the Bible, is called the Old Testament. The Bible itself is arguably the best selling and most read book of all time, yet it’s well known to be quite challenging to read through and understand. The Old Testament portion of the Bible, notably the most difficult portion of the Bible for most to study and follow, yields 39 books from multiple authors, and spans over 4000 years of crucial world and church history. If that were not enough to take on, the Old Testament comes our way through multiple styles of authorship and formats, including but not limited to, books of history, law, proverbs, ethics, philosophy, treatises, dramas, songs, epics, biographies, and letters. There have been many books written and published to survey, explain, and/or bring to light the Old Testament, but none more helpful to me than the review subject of this paper, the work of Dr. Elmer L. Towns, entitled “A Journey Through the Old Testament”.…
