and they then thought it was a spirit and called out of fear. Then Jesus spoke and told them that it was him and told Peter to step out and walk to him. This is where faith had to be used. At first they didn’t believe that it was Jesus so when it came for Peter to step out of the boat, he had to believe and use faith to do so. Once Peter began to doubt he began to drown. This shows that faith is the belief in the impossible. That’s why with faith all things are possible (Matthew 14:13-36).
Essay Part B: In Ephesians 2:8-10, it says, “(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” By reading this scripture, the good news according to Paul is that we can be saved by grace through faith rather than by works of law. The mystery revealed in Christ was showed in Ephesians 1:9-10. It says, “(9) Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: (10) That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” These scriptures reveal to us that the mystery was God’s plan in bringing kingdom in Christ to fulfillment. The kingdom had been prophesized a long time before but the when, who, and how wasn’t clear until the time of Christ. Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:4-6 that “ (4) There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— (5) one Lord, one faith, one baptism, (6) one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Paul basically says that we are one, meaning that we cannot separate ourselves from other Christians. One spirit means that there is only one God that is leading us in our daily walks through
life. Paul stating that there is one baptism is saying that there is only one way to be saved, which is through repentance and how we must die to ourselves.
