Id’s right before your eyes
The world is a place that is corrupted. “Id” has been here for as long as the first species people walked the earth. An example of id in our world can be displayed as the following events: “ The 9-11 attack on the twin towers”, “The shooting at columbine”, “World war 1”, and even “The Trojan War”. There are so many events that have happened, and that are even happening today that are “Id” elements. “Id” is driven behind many things, starting with greed.
On december 6, 2013, 52 year old, Joe horton, a salvation army bell ringer was charged for stealing $1k from a donation bucket, and attempted to use a ladies credit card which he found and later tried to use for himself. He was later charged with misdemeanor theft and identity theft, this is a clear example of id in our world. The bell ringer committed a greedy act because he wanted money for himself, and for his own selfish needs. him stealing the money showed that he didn’t care about the people that the donation was supposed to benefit, and on top of that he wanted to steal more money because he was frantically trying to get onto the ladies account, in order to take her money. In the book lord of the flies when Jack and his tribe find out that there fire is no longer Thomas--2
burning, they decide to go to Ralph’s territory to steal their fire, they needed the fire because they needed to cook their meat over it. Them trying to steal Ralph’s fire turns into a violent raid, in which they end up stealing piggy’s glasses (Golding, pg.272). Jack’s tribe
