Out of all the famous westerns that just about everybody knows of, the one that stands out has John Wayne and Montgomery Clift as the two main characters. These two actors make quite a pair when they work together, in…

The show’s leading couple, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz (native of Santiago de Cuba, Cube) had already been married for nearly ten years when they brought their idea to CBS for a “modern family” kind of show that was comedic, but also a portrayal of everyday life in the 50s. It was actually originally turned down by producers for being too “exogamous”. The culture then was still very segregated and conservative, and interracial couples were almost taboo. Desi, a man quite obviously of Cuban decent, was considered “too ethnic” for the channel to endorse.…

Both the movie and book have similarities. First, both show Billy’s persistence to own two hound dogs. It can be proved when Billy was willing to work day and night in order to collect enough money to pursue his dream. Second, both the book and the movie have the same conflicts. The first conflict is when Billy had to decide whether to keep his words to his dogs or break his promise. But he finally kept his words and cut off the big tree. Another same conflict is when Billy had to make a bet with The Prtichards’ boys to tree the ghost coon and both ended up with the death of Rubin. The third similarities of the book and the movie is the plot. After own two hound dogs, Billy spent much time training his dogs to hunt coons. He would skin the coons and store it to Grandpa that helped his family’s economy. Another same event is when Billy finally joined championship coon hunt and won it. Then, some red ferns grew on their tombs.…
To gaze into the lyrics of both Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur is like living in the ghettos of New York City where violence never stops. Both of these artists grew up seeing and living a life filled with violence. Gunshots and drive-byes, death and murder were a daily occurrence. Although the lyrics of both artists are simply telling their life stories and how hard it was to grow up in their “hoods” they contain vulgar, hateful, and sexual verses that send the wrong message to their listeners. Whether these listeners are teens or adults, white or black, they are continually sending notions of hatred and fear through their lyrics and actions. Ultimately, their lyrics, actions, and creation of the East coast West coast rivalry began promoting violence to whoever hears, listens, or watches them.…

Back when I was in Kweilin, people did not think about the fancy cars that make the putt-putt-putt sound or the mortgage on their house. Their worst troubles were their children’s moans of hunger. Most people only dreamed of their next meal. Everybody had humility, all these Chinese people bound under the same problems, all of them having to work hard. Even though they were so different, they learned to cooperate and work together.…
There are many versions to the famous fairy tale Cinderella. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s German version of Cinderella, “Aschenputtel,” is a household story of a young girl named Cinderella who eventually marries a prince. This specific version of Cinderella gave birth to the Walt Disney version of Cinderella that most Americans know today. However the stories are very different. The Grimm brothers’ version is much darker and gory then the classic American version. Small differences like this shed a different light on Cinderella and her journey to a “happy” ending.…
