Bilbo Baggins In The Hobbit By J. R. Tolkien
“The hobbit” is a book about Bilbo Baggins who is a hobbit that lives in Hobbiton. Bilbo lives in a very nice hobbit hole and is respected by all the neighbors because he doesn’t do unexpected things, such as go on adventures. Bilbo is the son of Bungo and the famous Belladonna Took. One day Bilbo is unexpectedly visited by a wizard named Gandalf who convinces Bilbo into joining him in a journey as a burglar, which makes his neighbors lose all his respect from him, but Bilbo didn’t really care. Bilbo is taken on a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the frightening dragon smaug. On this journey Bilbo is accompanied by the wizard Gandalf who invited him to the quest, twelve dwarfs, and a legendry warrior named Thorin oakenshield. This was the most memorable scene to me because I enjoyed the back and forth quarrels between the trolls and Bilbo. I also enjoyed how Bilbo would contradict himself and how that got the trolls confused.

Throughout the book I discovered two weaknesses which where that the plot was too easy to understand, and the main part of the story that was the fight against smaug the fearsome dragon was not detailed enough. In order to make the weaknesses better the author should have made the story more detailed, and also should have focused more on the main part of the story.

All through the story I came across many well written passages but the one that caught my attention was “Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning: or that it is a morning to be good on?” (Tolkien 6)I found this passage well written because the way the author worded the passage made the reader think that they are apart of the
