Imagine your everyday life without computers. Think about how different and difficult it would be to do certain tasks. Perhaps one of the most important innovations in our memory, the computer, has completely revolutionized nearly every aspect of everyday life. Generally speaking, almost everyone during some point of their day goes onto a computer to check e-mails, browse the web, or play games. But none of that would be possible without Bill Gates. Bill
Gates created a more user friendly software system. He also is a good person to honor because he had great determination with what he would do with Microsoft and how he would share his wealth with charity foundations. For these reasons, I want to commemorate Bill Gates.
Bill Gates, even at an young age, seemed destined for great things. At the age of 15 He started computer programming. Later in his high school and college years Gates wanted to make the personal computer more operator friendly in a sense and make it to where more people could use a computer for practical uses. He felt like a personal computer would be a valuable in every home. In 1975, during his time at Harvard University, he created a company named Microsoft with the help of Paul Allen which specialized in computer language software. His wanting for more people to be able to use a computer to help them with their everyday life tells you that he is one who wanted to make life easier for everyone.
After creating his first software system, which was MS-DOS, Bill Gates was near the top of the technology field and was one of the wealthiest men in the world. However he did not stop at becoming a successful business leader after one product. He wanted to become bigger and more successful than before. He could have easily stopped designing software programs and took the money and just keep it without developing anything else again. However he didn’t do this and this is what makes him an example of a good role model and a successful business leader. He would go on to create many programs including Microsoft 3.0. This success would eventually make his worth around $57 billion dollars.
Bill Gates is not only known for creating Microsoft and better operating systems. he is also known to donate a lot of his money to charity. Since he had great success, he started up a foundation called The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This foundation was started in 2000 to give help to people who need it the most. The main focus of this foundation was to focus on the life in developing countries, world health, and education. It is by far the largest charitable foundation with a worth of about $37 billion. This foundation shows how generous and caring Bill Gates is. Unlike most people who get rich and famous, they want to keep their wealth. Bill Gates has taken a completely different approach.
Without a doubt, Bill Gates has made a difference in everyone’s life in some way. It would be interesting to see where we would have been without him today computer-wise. He changed the way everyone lived from doing business, research, and entertainment. By starting the computer breakthrough Bill Gates has in some way planted a seed for new inventions in the upcoming years. Works Cited

Coming from a wealthy background, Bill Gates went to private school where a portion of the institution's funding went to a new computer terminal. However, Gates did not “learn programming by the laborious computer-card system, like virtually everyone else was doing in the 1960s [,and instead] he got to do real-time programming as an eighth grader” (Gladwell 51). The upper hand that Gates had with this privilege, eventually gave him the chance to work at Information Sciences Inc, ISI. There he spent “1,575 hours of computer time on the ISI mainframe, which averages[d] out to eight hours a day, seven days a week” (Gladwell 52). This ample amount of time to practice and perfect his craft gave him the extra boost to become exceptional at programming leading to the creation of Microsoft.…

In an effort to fully comprehend just how large Microsoft had become the periodical Microsoft After Gates. (And Bill After Microsoft.) states, “start-ups would abandon business plans if they felt that Microsoft was thinking of competing in their space.” Possessing an unholy amount of power like this speaks volumes in the colossal impact any proposal could have on the global market. As aforementioned, Gates reigned supreme, he was the captain of this tech ship that paved the way for innovation in both a daily driven work computer and the groundbreaking software included. “By late 1996, over 90 percent of all PCs had a Microsoft operating system - usually a form of windows - and most had Microsoft applications.” (“Bill Gates.”) Such success was unparalleled to the numbers of computing companies prior. Bypassing any and all opportunities to halt progress in an effort to make a quick profit is hardly one of the many practices he enacted. This same document says that “Gates’s competitive drive and fierce desire to win has made him a powerful force in business, but has also consumed much of his personal life.” (“Bill Gates.”) Hard work and large efforts obviously come at a toll except in the case of Gates, his endeavours…
