Contrary to the medical model the social model would see the steps in the example as a barrier.The social model includes the disabled individuals and ensures reasonable accommodations for disabled people. While I believe the medical model to be a good model as it focuses on finding cures so people can go back to normal, most people have adopted the social model. The bio-psychosocial model is an alternative to the medical and social model, which attributes disease outcomes to biological and psychological factors.

There has been a great shift on society view on disability, and prohibits discrimination based on an individual disability. These talks goes deeper into disability from real life people who share their personal
