Biography Of King Claudius
Claudius Claudius was born 1 August 10 B.C, by Drusus and Antonia Minor. His place of birth was in Gaul at Lugdunum which means he was the first Roman emperor to not be born in Italy. As a child Claudius suffered from sickness at a young age he walked with a limp and was partially deaf in one ear. Claudius weakness as a child more and likely saved his life from the expulsion of nobles during the reigns of Tiberius and Caligula. After the assaniation of Caligula he was declared emperor by the Praetorian Guard, which at the time he was the last male in his family succession.
