Referred to in chapter 4, growth patterns explains the ways a body changes throughout a certain amount of time. At roughly one year old, a typical toddler starts to lose a great portion of baby fat and continues to be on the lower end of fat to body weight until puberty. Because toddlers are very vulnerable to health threats and are in need of this, it may harshly affect the overall development within this age group and during the teenage years. This example, impacts development because without this necessity it cannot occur correctly, if at all.
