Cardiac cycle

The cardiac cycle is the cycle of events that occurs as the heart contracts. There are two phases of the cardiac cycle. In the diastole phase, the heart ventricles are relaxed and the heart fills with blood. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood into the arteries.

Lymphocytes are the main white blood cells in the vertebrate system that is responsible for immunity. Their main function in the body is the production of antibodies that help to fight bacteria and other disease-carrying agents.

Blood is pumped from the heart through the arteries at high pressure which could damage the tissue so it needs to go through the capillaires which are smaller low pressure blood vessels that are responsilbe for providing oxygen to the tissues, they also absord excess carbon dioxide and then deliver the blood into the veins which then supply the blood back to the heart.
