Any dog can bite no matter what breed it is, the risk of getting bit is only lowered when a dog is properly trained and comes from a good environment. So why have a ban on the breeds of dogs that were trained to fight, it’s not the dogs fault. On multiple occasions dog whisperer Cesar Millan says “People are the problem.” which is what I believe a dog can’t abuse or train itself but the person that own the dog can. We should have more programs where allow owners no matter what kind of do they have can learn to train a dog, wich will definitely help lower risks of getting bit.…

    Banning Pit Bulls

Without a doubt certain breeds seem to be naturally more aggressive and protective than others. The breed that comes to mind first is the Pit Bull Terrier known as pits or pit bulls. While these dogs have a reputation for being tough, strong and aggressive, they are not the only ones that should be shouldering the entire blame for their behavior. I’m not saying that the victims are to blame; the blame should fall on irresponsible dog owner whose mistreatment of dogs is the deciding factor on whether any certain dog will bite or attack.…

    Pit Bull Stereotypes

    • 894 Words
    • 4 Pages

When you buy a pet you acknowledge that they are your responsibility. If the pet destroyed someone’s property then it is the owners fault, not the dogs. However that is not true for biting. For some reason the government feels that it is a whole breeds fault if it is only a couple of dogs bite humans. The government should punish the owners instead of the dogs. Some owners just let their dogs run around and do whatever the dog wants. Then when the dog gets into trouble the owner does not take responsibility for the dog. So instead of the government banning the whole breed they should focus on the owners. They should ban certain people from owning a Pit Bull. If they did that then they would realize that it is not the breeds fault, but it is the owners fault. The government could also force owners to have a beware of dog sign, this way people would know that there was a dog around that could potentially be…

According to Gail C. Golab “Unfortunately, a few dogs do not live up to their image as mankind’s best friend, and an estimated 4.5 million people are bitten each year, although the actual number is unknown .” (paragraph 2). Thus saying that humans getting bit by a dog is quite common. As a result of these statistics, people believe dogs should be executed. Though it is a valid point what was the reason for those dog bites. Petfinder tells us a reason why dogs may bite “Like people, dogs are naturally fearful of unfamiliar and potentially threatening situations.” (paragraph 6). So dogs may feel threatened as you can too but they defend themselves by biting, is it their fault? The article “Why Dogs Bite”…
