The Black Panther Party was an revolutionary socialist organization, consisted of African-Americans. Black Panthers were founded by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale on October 1966. They created this organization for the reason to protect African-American neighborhoods from police brutality The Panthers practiced militant actions against the U.S. government. They also fought to create revolutionary organizations. The Black Panther PArty had one major intention, was to create equality and peace for the African American community. Bobby Seale and Huey Newton has made a big impact for the society of African-Americans. Huey Newton was from Monroe, Louisiana and born on February 17, 1942. He is an African-American political and urban activist. He was also a huge symbol of the black military and dealt with great confrontations with law enforcement. Bobby Seale was from Dallas, Texas and born on October 22, 1936. Bobby Seale was also an activist. Bobby Seale and Huey Newton both met at Oakland, Ca at a Afro-American Association (AAA). They both did not like the direction AAA was headed so they decided to create their own socialist organization. Both were heavily inspired by Malcolm X which led them to create the Black Panther Party. The Black Panthers idea were based on similar theories Malcolm X thought to believe in. Both Bobby Seale and Huey Newton adopted the slogan “Freedom by any means necessary” from Malcolm X. The Black Panthers made a movement in which impacted the U.S. They created rallies and strikes at important events, to get their point out. It worked but of course but there was always a group of people that tried making a stop to the Black Panther Party. The Black Panther’s goal was to “power to the people to determined their own destiny, full employment and decent housing, an end to capitalist exploration and an end to police brutality” (Albany Times
